The four subtests that get you in

Your AFQT is a 1–99 percentile built from just four subtests. Master these and your enlistment score takes care of itself.

Study all nine subtests

The AFQT four decide eligibility; the rest shape the line scores that qualify you for specific jobs.

ASVAB questions, answered

How many questions are on the ASVAB?

The number varies by version (computer vs. paper), but you’ll answer questions across all nine subtests. Only four of them — AR, MK, WK, and PC — make up your AFQT.

What’s a good ASVAB (AFQT) score?

The AFQT is a percentile from 1–99. Minimums to enlist vary by branch and your education level; higher scores open more jobs. See minimum scores by branch.

Which subtests should I study first?

Start with the AFQT four, since they set your eligibility. Then study the extra subtests that feed the line scores for the job you want.

Is this practice like the real ASVAB?

Our questions are original and written for study — we don’t use real ASVAB items — but they match the format and difficulty so your practice transfers.
