Who this covers
This policy explains how Voroxi Group LLC (“we,” “us”), the company that operates Points to Stripes, handles information across both the website at pointstostripes.com and the Points to Stripes mobile app for iOS and Android. It is written in plain language and describes what the software actually does. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@pointstostripes.com.
No account, and most data stays on your device
The app has no login, account, or password. When you first open it, the app creates a random identifier on your device to keep your settings together; it is not your name, email, phone number, or any hardware ID. Your practice scores, readiness, study time, promotion-point inputs, checklists, watched MOS lines, target job, and study goals are stored only on your device and are not uploaded to us. The promotion-point calculator on the website runs entirely in your browser, and the numbers you enter there are not sent to us.
What we collect, and why
On the website
- Cutoff-alert email. If you submit the signup form, we store the email address you give us (and, if you provide them, an MOS and rank) so we can email you when new promotion cutoffs post.
- Contact form. If you message us, we store your message, your email address, and your name if you include one, so we can reply.
- Calculator inputs. Computed in your browser and not transmitted to us.
- Server and security logs. Our host and our content-delivery/security provider (Cloudflare) process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Our contact and signup forms also record the requesting IP address to limit spam.
In the app
Stays on your device (never sent to us): your ASVAB practice results, per-subject mastery, readiness and readiness history, study time, review queue, diagnostic status; all promotion-point inputs (weapons, fitness, education, awards, the BLC/ALC bonus, and so on); your promotion checklist and watched MOS lines; your test date, daily goal, target branch and job; your subscription status; and your personalization choices.
Sent to us only in these specific cases:
- The random device identifier, used to key the two items below.
- Email, name, and which path you chose (ASVAB applicant or Army promotion) — sent only if you choose to enter an email during setup, so your profile can be restored later. If you don’t enter an email, none of this is sent.
- Notification registration — if you turn notifications on, we send a push token, your notification preferences, your device platform (iOS/Android), and, for the soldier path, your MOS and rank, so we can deliver the right cutoff and update alerts.
- Cutoff look-ups — when the app shows your MOS cutoff, it requests that reference data from our server using your MOS and target rank.
Subscriptions
Pro subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlements are managed through RevenueCat. Those providers process your purchase and receipt; the app never sees or stores your card or payment-account details. We receive only whether your subscription is active and which plan it is.
Notifications
Daily study reminders are scheduled locally on your device and involve no server. Cutoff alerts and product-update pushes are delivered through the Expo push service and, beneath it, Apple and Google’s notification systems. You can turn any of these off in the app’s Settings or in your device settings.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, referrers, approximate location, device/browser). Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address and on-site activity. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use the Google Analytics opt-out, or use browser privacy tools. Our web font is self-hosted, so no font requests go to third parties, and the mobile app uses no analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs.
Service providers we share data with
We don’t sell your data. We share the limited information above with providers only so the product can work:
- Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat — app distribution, subscription billing, and entitlement management.
- Expo (EAS) — push-notification delivery and over-the-air app updates (which involve standard request data such as IP, platform, and app version).
- Google — Analytics on the website (above, with consent), and Google Workspace for our support email inbox.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, DNS, and security in front of the website.
- Our web hosting provider — runs the site and the database that stores the form submissions and notification/profile data described above.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information, and the app does no advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not ask for your SSN, DoD ID, CAC credentials, or any official system login.
- We do not connect to IPPS-A or any Army/DoD system.
- The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or a precise device fingerprint.
Data retention and deletion
We keep cutoff-alert signup emails and contact messages until you ask us to remove them. Using “Delete account” in the app removes your on-device data and deletes the server-side data tied to your device — the synced email/name profile and any registered push token. (Simply deleting the app removes the on-device data but not those server rows, so use “Delete account” first if you want both gone.) To remove anything else — for example a cutoff-alert signup or a contact message — email support@pointstostripes.com and we will delete it. Subscription and receipt records held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are governed by those providers.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app’s Settings or in your device’s notification settings.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Request a copy or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by emailing support@pointstostripes.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data; contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
Children
Points to Stripes is intended for people preparing to enlist or already serving, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and where data is processed
We use reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Our servers and several of our providers are based in the United States, so information may be processed there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
